With Week 1 of Soccer less than 2 weeks away, I think it is best to go over some of the most asked questions ahead of the first week, so we are all prepared for a fantastic Fall season of Soccer!
- What does each player need to bring?
Full kit (jersey/shorts/socks/soccer ball) that were provided by the club in their team colors). Also shin guards, Soccer cleats, plenty of water and a snack. First couple of weeks the temperatures may be hot so please bring sunscreen too.
- About cleats, can they wear any kind, like baseball cleats?
The answer is an emphatic no. Each sport has different kind of cleats/soles/spikes for their sport so if you wear cleats from a different sport it is a danger not only to themselves but to the other players on the field and will therefore will not be able to enter the field of play if they don’t have Soccer specific cleats.
- Where do the games take place, are there away games?
The good news is all games will be taking place at the same location each week, which will be at the Delaware Valley School District (DVSD) building. The address is 236 209 US-6, Milford, PA. 18337. Now although each week is at the same location, each team will be on a different field number each week. This is because each week you play against a different team so it’s impossible to stay on the same field each time. So please keep an eye on the schedule so you know you field assignments ahead of every session.
- What happens if it’s raining?
In the event of inclement weather, we use several ways to get the word out as quickly as possible. If you haven’t already, follow the Eastern Pike Soccer Club Facebook page as we post all updates and club news on the page frequently. Then they typically get shared to the local community group pages too. Also, notifications will be sent to everyone’s email notifying about the cancellation. Be sure to check your spam/junk folders just in case it drops into there.
- How can I speak to someone involved with Eastern Pike Soccer
If you have a question for the club regarding topics like registration questions or 2023 programs, you can email [email protected]. If you have a question about the current Recreation Soccer program, then you are more than welcome to come and speak to before or after the session. Another volunteer or I from the club will be stationed by the shed (next to the Tennis courts and fields where U4/U6/U14’s play) and we’ll be happy to help!
Hopefully this will have been useful, and I can’t wait to see you all at the fields Week 1!
